VA Disability Payments in November 2026: When Will Your Deposit Arrive?

Veterans receiving VA disability compensation should plan around two payment dates in the coming weeks. The deposit arriving on Friday, October 30, covers October benefits, while the next regular payment due Tuesday, December 1 covers November benefits.

The VA generally pays monthly disability compensation in arrears, meaning the payment is issued after the month it covers. When the first day of the following month falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the deposit is moved to the prior business day.

November 2026 VA Payment Schedule

Benefit monthScheduled payment dateWhy the date changed
October 2026Friday, October 30, 2026November 1 falls on a Sunday, so the payment was moved to the preceding business day
November 2026Tuesday, December 1, 2026December 1 is a regular business day, so no adjustment is needed

The October 30 deposit is not an extra payment or an advance on November benefits. It is simply October’s compensation arriving early because the normal payment date would have fallen on a weekend.

Veterans can review official payment information through VA.gov. The VA’s disability compensation page explains the benefit, while its payment history tool can help recipients confirm deposits and claim status.

Why VA Payments Are Paid in Arrears

VA disability compensation follows a recurring monthly schedule. A payment made at the beginning of a month normally covers the prior month’s entitlement.

That is why the payment issued on October 30 is for October, even though it arrives before November begins. The next scheduled deposit, on December 1, is for November.

The same general pattern applies to other VA-administered benefits, including veterans pension, survivors pension and Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC). Recipients should check their individual payment records through VA.gov for confirmation.

What To Do If Your VA Payment Is Late

If a deposit does not appear on the expected date, first check your bank account and review your payment history on VA.gov. This can help confirm whether the VA issued the payment and when it was sent.

Veterans should also verify that their direct-deposit information is correct, especially after changing banks or updating account details. If the money is still missing after checking with the bank, contact the VA at 800-827-1000.

Use only official VA channels when discussing payment information. Avoid sharing Social Security numbers, bank details or other sensitive information with unverified callers or websites.

Why Your Deposit Amount May Change

A different deposit amount does not always mean a payment was missed. A revised disability rating, a change in eligible dependents, a retroactive award or another benefits decision can affect the amount received.

Veterans can compare the deposit with their award letter and payment history through VA.gov. If the amount still appears incorrect, contact the VA for clarification before assuming the payment was lost.

For November budgeting, the key distinction is simple: the October 30 deposit covers October, while the December 1 deposit covers November. Keeping those dates separate can help veterans avoid treating the early payment as additional income.
