School’s out, but kids still need healthy meals. That’s where SUN Bucks (also known as Summer EBT) steps in, giving families extra grocery funds when children lose access to free or reduced-price school meals during the summer.
In July 2025, eligible families can receive $40 per school-aged child, helping to stretch grocery budgets and keep nutritious food on the table.
What Is SUN Bucks?
SUN Bucks is a federal program run by the USDA to help families provide healthy meals for kids during summer months.
Families can receive up to $120 per child across June, July, and August, paid as $40 each month.
This helps parents buy fruits, vegetables, milk, and other essentials when school cafeterias are closed.
How Much Will You Get in July 2025?
For most states, including the 48 contiguous states and Washington D.C., families will receive $40 per eligible child for July 2025.
If you’re unsure about what assistance you qualify for, take a look here.
If you live in Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico, you may receive a higher amount due to local cost-of-living adjustments.
